A first class Malbec which is drinking beautifully now. The Pawn is the perfect example of an Argentinian Malbec with masses of depth to the wine, these Malbec grapes have been picked in the high altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley giving the wine beautiful elegance and fresh flavours too, a superior wine.
“The 2013 Revancha Malbec is sourced form different vineyards in the Uco valley which fermented in 8,000-liter stainless steel tanks. Around half of the wine was transferred to well-seasoned French barriques for one year while the rest remained in stainless steel. It’s very floral and fresh with some spiciness (it has some 3% Cabernet Franc in the blend) and imperceptible oak. The palate is medium-bodied, with great freshness, very fine tannins, and less impact of the oak than their 2012. 25,000 bottles produced.” 91 Points, Robert Parker, robertparker.com
