Polugar is a brand of bread wine, said to be the father of Russian vodka. Made with barley, this is triple distilled in a copper pot still, and is therefore similar to unaged whisky. This has notes of bread, nuts, honey and herbs – great with Russian cuisine or as a replacement for vodka in cocktails.
