Sandwiched next to the Slovenian border in the North East corner of Italy, Friuli has had a history of producing light aromatic white wines of immense drinkability but of little interest outside the region. Silvio Jermann has almost single handedly changed that and is widely considered to be a true ‘artist’ in the production of wines from his region. The bouquet is intense, with hint of honey and wild flowers. Dry and smooth on the palate with good balance and an exceptionally long finish. Sublime with roast turkey, hazelnut stuffing and a white wine gravy.
