Part of the famous Mont-Redon estate, Jean Abeille’s vineyard occupies a total of 100 hectares of land with classic Châteauneuf characteristics: mature bush vines sit on a plateau with great sun exposure, and a topsoil covered with heat-retaining pebbles. Superbly balanced between youthful fruit and warm, oaky complexity. Nose and palate are replete with notes of cinnamon and clove amid the the dense bramble fruit. Enjoyable immediately, but will improve with 5 years’ cellaring. Drink with red meats or game.
