There have been vines planted on the site of Fourcas-Dupré since the early 18th century, but it is only since 1970 that the estate has taken on its modern identity, steadily improving its quality until it was awarded Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status in 2003. A rich and abundantly aromatic claret, full of meaty red fruit, accented by hints of truffle, cedar and perfumed spice. Plenty of body and graphite-like tannins. Drink now or cellar for another 3-5 years. Best served with roast lamb.
