A tiny parcel of wonderful mature 2006 Claret, we were so impressed by the older vintages from the same property that we tried many of their others and 2006 really is showing beautifully. Perfect maturity with body and delicious aged flavours, the only problem is there is none left in Bordeaux, we have ordered the very last 10 cases.
“Another of the over-achieving estates from a humble appellation, Beaulieu Comtes de Tastes’ 2006 is a blend of 70% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dark ruby color is followed by soft, round, black currant and black cherry notes as well as hints of spice box and cedar. With sweet tannin and medium body, it is an excellent introduction to a well-made, bargain-priced Bordeaux. Good value.” Robert Parker, robertparker.com
