Pouilly-Fuisse ’Aux Scelles’, Marcel Couturier  This is one of the finest Pouilly-Fuissés I remember tasting. It is the purity and depth that just bowls me over. The youthful colour, greeny gold (almost Grand Cru Chablis like), the nose is a little closed but quite zesty, minerally – no new oak. Intense, lovely focused creamy mouthfeel, good acidity – full of life. The finish is balanced and long. Fabulous!

Ch. Poitevin, Medoc  Ch. Poitevin`s gravel-based soils farmed with minimal intervention gives a Left Bank Bordeaux wine of great typicity, vinified with up-to-date techniques. More or less 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, a pinch of Petit Verdot, with 14 months in barrel. A superb harvest in Bordeaux.
