Grand Vin de Glenelly, Glenelly Estate
Chateau Pichon-Lalande comes to the Cape! The various grapes were aged separately for six months in French oak (1/3 new), then blended and aged a further six months in the same barrels. Showing beautifully at the moment; dark Syrah fruit on the nose, a hint of black pepper, then more Cabernet on the palate – sleek, savoury blackcurrant; hints of coffee and earth – with a great balance of ripe tannins and balanced acidity.

Grenache, Dom. Bachellery
Quite intense black cherry colour. Bright, lifted nose of ripe red and black fruits, earthy spice – good mouthfeel, the tannins are grainy and soft, black fruits, kirsch, hints of raspberry perhaps. Good finish. Clean, balanced, well-made and with the freshness that Grenache can sometimes lack.
