THE HUNDRED RESERVE 2011 £83.88 (12 bottles), £41.94 (6 bottles) Hundred Reserve
Our exclusive label, The Hundred, has played host to some amazing cuvées over the years and this Reserve Cabernet is one of the best yet. It comes from Conawarra which recently produced Australia’s first $1000 bottle of wine – Penfold’s Bin 620. This exclusive parcel may not be in quite the same league but nonetheless it’s great quality and exceptionally good value. As the wine is from an estate that normally commands much higher prices, we’re sworn to secrecy on its precise provenance. Rest assured it’s from the region’s famed terra rossa soils and was aged 16 months in fine oak. From Coonawarra’s small 2011 harvest, it’s notably rich with dense cassis and an integrated spicy character. Decant prior to serving with roast lamb or beef.

TIKOHI SAUVIGNON BLANC 2011 £131.88 (12 bottles), £65.94 (6 bottles)
Hells Bells Bottle
Our full time Antipodean wine sleuth Dan Parrott devotes every working hour to seeking out wines like this with impeccable provenance at a great price. Tikohi comes from Phil and Chris Rose who back in 1978 were pioneers in planting vines in an area of Marlborough, close to the Wairau River, now known as the ‘Golden Mile’. Even then they recognised the potential of its free draining stony soil. Hand tended in small batches from vine to bottle, this premium wine is the product of low yielding vines and ultra ripe fruit and is renowned for exhibiting intense fruit characteristics and classical elegance. With fresh, vibrant aromas of gooseberry and passionfruit, this is a wine to enjoy solo or with asparagus, king prawns or fish curry.
Champagne Blanc de Blancs, Bernard Remy TENUTA LAMIATA 2007 £140.00 (6 bottles)

As it clings to its rocky hilltop, the medieval village of Montalcino is a most picturesque vista of Tuscany. It’s also the centre for some of Italy’s most magnificent reds – Brunello di Montalcino – collectors’ wines that age for years and are steeply priced. Father and son Marco and Jacopo Bacci make their fair share of them at their Renieri estate, receiving an impressive 94 Points from Wine Spectator for their 2007. Lamiata is from that same brilliant vintage (rated 95 Points), a special cuvée made exclusively for our customers. Minute yields from steep slopes, plus long cask ageing all add up to a Brunello of terrific richness and length. Save for your finest red meat dishes – venison, boeuf en croûte, lamb. Open early and decant.
